Please join HAUS-A for a walking tour of the Edge waterfront parks and development in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn, led by Claudia herasme, Deputy Director of Urban Design at the New York City Department of City Planning. Rezoned in 2005 to allow mixed-use development, the Edge is now one of the most active waterfront areas in New York City. Tour this network of waterfront spaces that weave together privately and publicly owned properties and learn about the forces that shaped this planning effort. The tour will cover the City's efforts to connect the waterfront to "upland" development and the local street network, the importance of visual corridors and key part design elements that are considered in the Edge's planning stages. An informal, optional reception and cash bar will follow at the Wythe Hotel rooftop.
